Mike Shannon is the host of our newest morning show – the WOVO Wake Up Show, airing 6am-10am every weekday morning! Mike hails from sunny California and has been on the airwaves in Louisville, Atlanta and Toledo, and Fresno, getting that B.A. in broadcasting from Fresno State. Mike also works at the American Printing House in Louisville, narrating books for the Library of Congress. He’ll wake you up with fun stuff in the morning along with all the news weather and traffic you need on the way in. Best thing about BG are the people in it.
Savannah Burke is with you through the work day and on your commute home with today’s hits and yesterday’s favorites, noon-6pm every week day! Savannah graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Photojournalism and minor in Religious Studies. While at WKU, Savannah deejayed for Revolution 91.7 WWHR-FM, the college progressive station, eventually filling the titles of Station Manager, Program Director and Music Director. She hosted various specialty shows, winning the award for Best Specialty Show for her world music show, “Culture Shock”, from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System in 2012. Savannah has participated in various conferences, speaking as a panelist at the CMJ Music Marathon conference in New York City in 2015. Growing up right across the river from Cincinnati, Savannah spent her youth cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and eating Skyline Chili. She now lives in Bowling Green with her pride and joy, a pitbull-mix named Missy “Ellie” Elliot.
Dan Holiday was raised on a farm, east of El Dorado, Kansas. Throughout his childhood he built his own radio and weather station in his bedroom and began practicing his passion for a career. While in high school, Dan got his first job at KOYY Radio as an afternoon announcer. Since that time, he has worked at several radio stations. In 2004, Dan moved to Kansas City to join KFKF-FM as the afternoon personality. In 2006, he earned certification as a Broadcast Meteorologist through Mississippi State University. Dan is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, Dan and The Storm Report Radio Network in partnership with two affiliates won broadcast awards for “Best Severe Weather Coverage”. In his spare time, Dan loves watching college basketball (Go Wichita State!).
Jennifer Narramore is a Midwest girl, originally from Beech Grove, Indiana. Her interest in weather came in middle school. She was living in Central Florida at the time and became fascinated with hurricanes and tracked every storm on the tracking charts that you get at the grocery store. Her family moved to Pennsylvania when she was in high school and Jen went to the Pennsylvania State University (Go Lions!) and received her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 1995. Jennifer landed a job in the radio department at The Weather Channel in 1997. She has broadcasted on several radio affiliates across the country including: WIOD/Miami, WGST/Atlanta, WBAP/Dallas, WGY/Albany, WWKI/Kokomo, Indiana, WIBX/Utica, WRSA/Huntsville and WMNI/Columbus. In her spare time, Jen is an avid tennis player. She plays on competitive leagues year round. She volunteers as a tennis coach with the Special Olympics. Jen is also pursuing training with her church in Disaster Response to be ready if called out to help those impacted by a disaster.
